Dr. Almaz Sandybayev is a policy expert, public activist, educational consultant and most recently a lecturer at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Mediterranean Karpasia in Northern Cyprus. Born in Kazakhstan on December 19, 1976, Dr. Almaz has received his B.A. degree from Kazakh State University and M.A. degree in International Relations from Ege University in Izmir, Turkey. Being specifically interested in business and economics, Dr. Almaz Sandybayev has been accepted to Ecole des Haute Etudes Commerciales in France, where he received Diplôme HEC of Executive Business and Advanced Management. Quite recently, he obtained Ph.D. in Business Management from Girne American University in Northern Cyprus. Over fifteen years, Dr. Almaz worked as a business consultant, researcher, policy expert in government, private and non-government sectors in Kazakhstan, Central Asia and abroad that developed his sharp analytical abilities, decision making and good interpersonal and communication skills. He is a member and participant of professional organizations like International Forum for Democracy and Peace, European Business Association of Kazakhstan, American Chamber in Kazakhstan, Central Asia Management Schools Development Association and American Council. As one of his professional colleagues writes, “Through innovation and hard work, he motivates himself and those around him to do their best. He is a creative teacher and excellent role model who is dedicated to his work and often thinks in a contemplative way about various issues of practical importance. Being able to identify patterns and relationships that are not obvious to others is perhaps his greatest strength. This will prove very valuable because an integral part of being a researcher and practitioner is to perceive the balance between theory and practice, analytical rigor and intuition”.
